Major decisions

You know it's strange when people expect you to take some major decision at a point in life where on the other hand they still think you as a kid. A decision on which your whole life will rely and you have to do it on your own. I am talking about choosing streams after 10th class, and it's not the end; It is barely a start A start of life for which you are only responsible, Choosing college after 12th another major decision, Choosing which job to opt for, finding a partner for marriage (In India parents can help in that though. Arranged marriage are still so mainstream in India. Also what is mainstream is FORCED MARRIAGE, thats not the topic about what i am writing in this blog although now i have a topic for my next blog.) I am not that old to even hold a qualification for writing a blog on life but from what I have seen in my life and my friend's life and life of others i think i can well understands what life is about. It is about DECISIONS you make in your life. Decisions whether good or bad; It is the fuel for running the engine of our lives. Take a second and think about the decisions you have made till now. No matter good or bad just try to think about it.

You won't believe but a baby who has just born also makes decisions, Yeah we make decisions right from the beginning. Even daily you make like thousands of decisions. Waking up in the morning is your decision, Brushing your teeth again your decision (Its your decision but it also affects other people, No one would love to smell your bad breathe). But are they major decisions? Not brushing one day will not turn your life around. So what are major decisions? Well we are often not aware of the major decisions of our lives as they are taken by our parents most of the time. And why shouldn't it be after all they are responsible for our existence and fully hold a right to take decisions for us. But sometimes those decisions become futile for example: I had one friend who was not at all interested in Science, rather he was genius in historical events, current affairs and sports. His parents wanted him to go to sciences as it was the ritual of the family, no one in their family has opted anything else than science and not opting for science was considered failure in their family. Time came when he had to choose between his life and Parent's choice. He could not help himself and chose to go with Parent's choice. He barely passed 11th which was a clear signal for his family which they chose to ignore and unfortunately he failed in 12th. And then again his family was on him for not studying properly rather than focusing on why could he not study properly, why a 9.8 GPA holder in 10th could not learn science.Eventually he opted for Humanities the next year and passed with 98% marks.

This was the example when you let other people rule over your decisions. Taking advice is fine but letting someone control your life that is not fair. We live in 21st century where we have the right to make choices.
Not only Presidents and Prime Ministers can make Major decisions, You too do have to make major decisions at time to time. Like you are on streets and you see a group of boys teasing few girls, the decision of rebelling and standing up for them is major because you arent caring about your life then and your major decision is affecting both teaser and girls. Decision making is process, a way of telling yourself that you are only responsible for whatsoever is happening, happened and will happen in your life. So friends go ahead make your decisions wisely. Don't forget to read my book. And please give your feedback for both book and blog.
